18 weeks

OK, no joke, taking a picture of myself in this mirror is HARD! Haha it's always so awkward trying to get the right angle, trying not to get my bathroom clutter in the picture, and also trying to show how big my stupid little tummy. It looks bigger in person... at least to me. haha

So some of you may know about my ordeal with being sick last week, and some of you may not. My insurance needed to 'reauthorize' my anti-sicky medications and because of Christmas it took almost a week. Because I was 17 weeks already I thought hopefully I'm starting to get better and maybe I wont need the medication anymore, or at least as much or for much longer. But I was wrong. Haha when I ran out waiting for them to authorize the medication so it could be filled I reverted to where I was at 14 weeks... possibly worse. Ugh that made Christmas really hard. I only lost 2 lbs that week. So from my pre-pregnancy weight to what I weigh now I've only lost 4 lbs... Which is good. Before I had gained a little, then lost a ton... gained it back and then lost a little. But hopefully from now on I will be gaining a healthy amount of weight and things will go a little more smooth.

Because I was sick, we spent Christmas just Daniel and I at our home in Rexburg, but this weekend, weather permitting, we will be spending our last weekend before school starts in Rupert with Daniel's family. It's been 2 months (one of the longest streches Daniel's gone, other than his 2 year mission, without seeing his family) so it's about time we visit. It'll be a nice little break.

Daniel and I are both very excited for school to start. It will be Daniel's first semester and my last one on campus. Next semester I will just do 2 classes online. My semester will be a heavy load subsequently, but I'm up for the challenge, especially if it means graduating this APRIL!!! I think it will be really nice to kind of have that off my plate just before the baby is born.

We have our 20 week ultrasound appointment set! January 12th. We will get to find out the sex of the baby as well as see how big he/she has grown! Already this baby has grown so much, throwing my sense of balance totally off. I have to be careful bending to get stuff off the floor or getting up too fast. Daniel is very protective of me, but also thinks it so funny when I can't seem to stand up and walk in a straight line. He also likes to touch my tummy... all the time! I better get used to it because pretty soon I know I'm going to have deal with strangers doing the same thing. I should get a shirt that says "Ask then touch" just like Angela got for Christmas from The Office! That would be kind of funny. I should just make myself a bunch of funny maternity shirts that have little sayings like that.

16 1/2 weeks

So as of today I'm 16 and a half weeks. Yesterday I was feeling ok, so we were very busy. We did some cleaning, and we did some box emptying. I also got the crib up!

I know it's early, but I wanted to get all the junk out of that room and so that just the baby's stuff is in there. I'm really excited to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl. And then we can start getting more things, choose colors and stuff. Really the only big items we need is a stroller and a bassinet. And then clothes, diapers etc we can get when it gets closer.

Yesterday we also decorated for Christmas. We got our tree up! And hung our stockings!

I also put my precious moments nativity scene. I love it. My mom used to put it up every year. And we have our pine scented candle to make it smell like Christmas.

It's not much, but it's our little Christmas. And it makes me happy. Here's a picture of our Christmas lights to decorate the outside of our trailer. I only had a strand that was like 3 feet long... so it's a little 'White Trash' but that's ok.

16 weeks

Today I was actually able to feel through my tummy to my uterus. Haha it's weird saying that. But it's kind of funny that I can feel it.

Last week at the doctors I talked to them about still being sick. My doctor was actually surprised I was still sick. But I've heard of lots of women who are sick their whole pregnancy. Which is not something I was, but I've got a feeling I just might be one of those women. Anyways, the doctor gave me some medications that they give to chemo patience etc. that suffer with nausea. So it was really working for the first 4 days. And then my nausea hit again. But no throwing up... till last night. I threw up so hard I'm still coughing up blood this afternoon. Ouch! I'm just hoping that eventually things will calm down.
Here is my 16 week tummy. I feel a little silly because it's not much of a belly... I also feel weird focusing on my "belly" haha but it's cool to see me change.

14 weeks

This week I thought I was starting to feel a little better, just for things to get worse. Ha! But I think things are starting to even out a little bit.

Today I felt well, enough... to go to Idaho Falls with Daniel to use our Out Back Steak House gift card that he got at work. I love that Melaleuca gives gift cards out as intensives. At the restaurant I wasn't feeling so hot, so I only ate a few bites of my meal. But when we got home I
was able to eat it up. So yummy! I have been craving red meat for a while, so the 9oz serloin steak I got hit the spot magnificently. And the house salad was really yummy too. Daniel loves onion rings so we got the bloomin onion as an appetizer for him. We weren't paying for it so I had no problem letting him get it. Daniel also got a HUGE full rack of baby back ribs. Yum!

Here is a picture of my belly. I am now finally starting to show a little, even though it still looks like I just ate a big meal (even though I kind of did!). It's hard to see but I'm proud of it... mostly because in total since I've become pregnant I've lost like 10 lbs. But i'm sure my body will reverse that here shortly. I'm also wearing a maternity shirt. It's got the elastic on the sides so it fits now and will expand as I do. Nice. Also excuse that nasty bathroom in the background. Stuff is everywhere because we had to move things around to paint the ceiling. As well, we have to coolest wallpaper/wood paneling out there. Be jealous.
